Booking models and talent is one of the most rewarding jobs out there.  The entire process for the model and agency is a daily ebb and flow  consisting of teamwork and collaboration. Models need to realize that agents connect the dots, open doors, make it happen.  The great thing about being an agent is that with that position comes the credibility clients are seeking.  When a client calls it is out job to find the best talent available and create a lasting relationship with that client.  Bookings come and go but repeat bookings is where the true talent shines.

Now here is a little something everyone should realize.  When you tell your agency that you can't be sent out for print or for commercials or whatever it is - you have now set up a roadblock.  I can't tell you the number of times that I have gone to submit talent to an in house client and suddenly stopped and thought ... " Oh this person does not want to book on a Monday due to a school schedule , or a part time job etc"  Now hold on - I am not suggesting that you stop going to school or working but in this game you need to be clear on what you want.  Do you really want to book or is this just something fun to do on the side? If you find that is your answer you might be wasting your time. Agents can tell who is in it to book and who is just playing around and it shows in the bookings.

Models and talent need to remember that your attitude stays even after you have left the building.  What are you doing to build a bridge with your agency? How are you staying connected in their minds as a viable option for their projects?  Are you still using a headshot from last year?
Are you looking around and wondering why everyone else is booking except for you?  There are a lot of things you can do and one of those is to invest you yourself.  Are you well packaged? Are you showing up to castings looking the part or just rolled out of bed?
I know it sounds cliche but the truth is .... clients want to see models, actors, talent that can show up with a ' can do" attitude.  This is not for the person that is hesitant.  You need to realize that your time is now.  Find your light and let it shine!  Look the part, dress the part, act the part, go share your gift!
Your agency is in the business of getting you seen and booked.  Your part is to supply them with everything it takes - current photos, resume, list of talents, sports you are great at, dance experience, you name it tell your agency or list it on your resume.

There is more than enough out there and if you feel like you are not getting your part of the pie then start creating the new you that will get noticed!
