What clients need to know!

Thanks for visiting our Peak Models & Talent blog. At Peak we understand that our clients have specific needs when it come to models. Not all models are created equally. For example, fit models are specific to the garment industry. Peak Models & Talent has a specific rister of models just for fit. These models have the experience fitting garments on a daily basis. A fit model must have specific measurements for the client. In addition to having great measurements, the models must be reliable and able to give fit advice to the client.

Many clients often do not realize that models are booked on the castings days. If we feel that we have a great models for your specific line, please understand that seeing the models is critical.
We send out photos with measurments, but seeing the models in person to try on your garments is the only way you can really truly assess the proper model.

All businesses survive by business transactions. By trying to book a models without an agency you run the risk of the models not showing up. At Peak we have our models sign a booking confirmation agreeing to our assignments. This assures you that the model will show up that you booked. Of course people get sick and there is a human element, however we can find a suitable replacement if needed. If you hire a model off the street, there is no guarantee that she will show up for your important meeting. We can offer the assurance that you will have the models you booked when you book them.

For print or catalog models, it is always best to deal with an agency. You will benefit from having an agent handle the model release forms. Usage fees and photo releases can become confusing to the models and cleints. It is best to have a professional arrange the details for your protection.

Booking Jobs!

There is so much information surrounding the modeling industry, it is hard to know the truth when it comes to booking jobs. For many models, getting an agent is a dream. For others it is a reality. The truth is, in both cases, there are models that do not work.
There is so much that goes into a model getting the job. The first and most important thing is that you must be available for every casting you are sent on. Once you get an agent, the agent does not magically get you a job. The agent just opens the doors and you must then book the job on your own merits and looks.
Remember this, if you have an agent, there are hundreds of models every day trying to take your spot at that agency. Do not give your agent a reason to replace you. Some of the top reasons models are dropped from the agency are, not calling back, not going to castings, being late for jobs, and diva attitude.
Remember this too, who believes in you so much that they are willing to bet that you will work or they do not get paid? Your agent.

What models need to know!

As an agent, I see models come in every day seeking representation for modeling. I am always amazed at the models that come in with no photos, a messy book, old photos that look nothing like them now, and the list goes on.

Remember people, you are here to impress. You must be on top of your game. Show up with the best photos you have, do not ask the agent to "look at your disk" of hundreds of photos. We do not have time. If every model came in and did the same thing, no one would ever get a booking.
And NEVER bring your lap top to set up and go over photos.

The moral of the story is to go to a casting or meeting totally prepared. Be properly dressed, have your materials ready for the agent. Follow up with an e mail with your photo attatched thanking the agent for meeting with you. This keeps you in their mind, and you look professional.

America's Modeling Coach

Being an agent for Peak Models& Talent has shown me that there are so many models with so much to offer that just need a little guidance. As an agent I am always busy booking models on the next print job, fitting, or campaign. Now I am going to teach models the "how to" in the modeling business.
With so many modeling schools out there, it is hard to know who can really further a models career. As a former model and owner of a top modeling agency, I am America's Modeling Coach.
I can teach any model the in's and out's of the modeling business. In can share the inside secrets to assure that you will be ahead of the other models every time. I have the information that makes the difference between a model that works and one that waits by the phone. I know both sides of the business and I understand what it is like to go on castings and go sees, and I also know what the clients are looking for in a model they want to book.
